Ensign Trevor ("Trey") Cheng - Security Officer Trevor Cheng is an only child and a Star Fleet brat. His father was a former secretary to Ambassador Ola Otis, who retired early to marry Trevor's mother, then captain of the science vessel USS Zyophor. Trevor lived aboard the Zyophor most of his childhood, all the while yearning for a more stationary and normal life. But by the time his mother became an admiral and the family resettled back on Earth "Trey," as he was called, was ready to leave home for university. There he met his wife, the poet Jany Umoija, while both were studying creative writing at the famed Fraser Lit Circle of the University of the West Indies on Jamaica. They married and settled in Wales to live near his parents. With Jany he created quite a nice, stable life in the countryside, raising their children and a small herd of goats. But Trey realised to his surprise that he yearned to be back on a ship, travelling the stars. He joined the Academy and, despite his wife's reservations about raising a family with a frequently-absent father, he began a career in space that keeps him from home for extended periods of time. He misses his family terribly when he is away, but even their love and companionship cannot keep him from space for long. The rifts his chosen career has caused in his marriage weigh on Trey's mind a great deal and often affects his work.Personality/General Attitude/Quirks: Thoughtful, easy to get along with, enjoys holonovels, scar on left elbow from a climbing accident when he was a younger man, married with three children, who live back on Earth.
